Enjoy complete privacy and uninterrupted views of the Paardeberg mountain range with some of South Africa’s finest stargazing under the dark Cederberg night sky. This rustic, traditional Cape Dutch style shepherd house is nestled along our seasonal river which runs from May to December.

Oak Cottage sleeps up to 4 people with a comfortable king-sized bed on the ground floor and 2 singles in the charming hayloft, accessible via a traditional external staircase or indoor hayloft ladder.

The cottage comes fully equipped with linens, towels, crockery, cutlery, pots, and pans for a hassle-free stay.

The well-appointed kitchenette features a bar fridge, 2-plate cooker, kettle, toaster, and microwave for all your self-catering needs.

Warm yourself by the cozy indoor fireplace during cooler evenings or enjoy the outdoor braai area for authentic South African barbecues.

Frequently Asked Questions

The hayloft is accessed via a ladder and has limited headroom, making it more suitable for children and teenagers, but agile adults can use it too.

During peak periods (school holidays and flower season) we have a minimum stay of 2 nights. At other times, one-night stays may be possible - please inquire.

Oak Cottage is set apart from other cottages but is not as remote as Lonely Planet. It offers a good balance of privacy while being a short walk from the main areas.
